LOVE LETTERS

The Pensacola Shakespeare Theatre opened with a real treat for the Pensacola audiences. 5-time Emmy award nominee Julia Duffy (Newhart, Designing Women) and her husband Jerry Lacy (Play It Again Sam, Dark Shadows) were on hand to perform in the heartwarming play Love Letters.

Summer 2010

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

Our first regular season opened with our production of Much Ado…set in the post WW2 south. With Gary Lamb as Benedick, Paul Benz as Claudio, and Thom Hofrichter as Dogberry, the show established Pensacola Shakespeare Theatre as the professional theatre of Pensacola.

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE (abridged)

Complete Works…opened the second weekend of our opening season to enthusiastic audiences. Gary Lamb, Anthony Reimer, and Kevin P. Kern donned dresses, wigs, and puppets to play scenes from every Shakespearean play ever written.

REDS, WHITES AND A FEW GOOD FIGHTS

With scenes from Oscar Wilde, William Shakespeare and Neil Simon, the talented team of Geraint Wyn Davies and Claire Lautier kept the sold-out crowd enthralled in the courtyard of the Aragon Wine Market in downtown Pensacola

BROADWAY SINGS THE BARD

Continuing our mission to bring professional performers to Pensacola, May 2011 brought Broadway actor, singer, and dancer Gerry McIntyre to Pensacola has he presented his cabaret act Broadway Sings The Bard – Showtunes inspired by Shakespeare.  Gerry delighted the crowd with songs from West Side Story, Kiss Me Kate, Hair, and many others.

SUMMER 2011

12th NIGHT

In the summer of 2011 we produced Shakespeare’s hilarious comedy of mistaken identity: 12th Night. With Ken Clement and Amanda Zarr in their debut performances with Pen Shakes alongside returning favorites Gary Lamb and Mark Duncan, audiences were delighted with the director Eric Zivot’s Elizabethan staging of this classic.

FALL 2011

GOING ON

We were thrilled to welcome Geraint Wyn-Davies and Claire Lautier back to Pensacola following their season with the Stratford Festival where they starred in CAMELOT and TITUS ANDRONICUS.  GOING ON is Charles Dennis’ charming play about the unsung heroes of the Theatre:  the understudies, and Geraint and Claire kept the audience at The Artel Gallery thoroughly entertained.
