Eric is delighted to be directing 12th Night for Pensacola Shakespeare. He comes to Pen-Shakes from the Orlando Shakespeare Theater where he has been an Associate Artist since 2004. At OST he has directed ALAS POOR YORICK, THE UNFORTUNATES, and YANKEE TAVERN and has appeared as Ralph Waldo Emerson; CHARM, Claudius; HAMLET, Parolles; ALLS WELL THAT ENDS WELL, Malvolio; TWELFTH NIGHT, Gloucester; KING LEAR, Jaques; AS YOU LIKE IT, and Macduff; MACBETH. He is also an Associate Professor at Rollins College where he has appeared as Martin Dysart in EQUUS, the Ghost of John Barrymore in I HATE HAMLET, and Sgt. Toomey in BILOXI BLUES as well as directing productions of ALL MY SONS and HENRY V.
Before joining the faculty of Theater & Dance at Rollins College, Eric was a member of the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. His A.C.T. credits include directing JULIUS CAESAR and appearing in SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY; CYRANO de BERGERAC; HAMLET and THE COCKTAIL HOUR among many others. Other Bay Area credits include Valmont: LES LIASONS DANGEROUS (Contra Costa Award), and the title role in MACBETH for Marin Shakespeare. Other Shakespeare includes MEASURE FOR MEASURE, KING LEAR, and TWELFTH NIGHT for the Stratford Festival of Canada; THE WINTER’S TALE and HENRY V for Colorado Shakespeare and RICHARD III for the Manitoba Theatre Centre. During his time in Los Angeles he founded THE GYMNASIA THEATRICA and directed THE BLUE ROOM and SHAKESPERIENCE. His film and television credits include JAG (Emmy Winner), The Alarmist, Two Voices, Looking for Lola, Babylon 5 and the Aaron Spelling “soap” Sunset Beach
