@PenShakesMuch Ado About Nothing
Don Pedro brings his men home from war to Leonato’s country estate for some well-deserved R&R. Claudio falls immediately in love with Leonato’s daughter, Hero, proposes, and the wedding date is set for a week from the proposal (things move fast when you’re coming home from war!) The “battle of the sexes” takes a turn for the decidedly comic when lovers Claudio and Hero pass the week before their wedding by tricking confirmed bachelor Benedick and equally confirmed “bachelorette” Beatrice into falling in love – with each other. Plots both nefarious and mischievous plague our two sets of lovers, and every great comic reversal is thrown in the mix – the “Much ado” of the title – until the play ends as all great comedies must – every guy with his gal, ever lass with her lad, and a grand wedding!
